Lengthen d/c Timeout
I've been trying to deathlevel a pet in pre to level 20 for 3 days now.
I always d/c when I leave for like 20 mins to eat...
It's really annoying that you have to stare at your screen all the time because you can d/c at any time and you have like 10mins to reconnect(!!). Change the timeout to 1-2 hours to compensate the fail servers.
What do you think?

I think this was suggested fairly recently xD
But i dont think the time should be lengthened, imagine waiting 1-2 hours during a vanquish, for the person with 3 heroes to get booted so you can carry on :P
Persoanlly ive never had any problems with this anyway, and many others probably dont either. It might be a problem that you should take up with your ISP

My ISP resets my connection only every 24 hours at the same time (I can check my router for that). Every time I d/c while playing I check it though to see if my internet is still working... it always does.
And you don't have to wait for heroes and henchies if they keep the 5 minute timeout for them to join the rest of the team...
I d/ced 2 more times now while I was here... annoying.
Could you link me to the topic that you're talking about?
EDIT: Why not automate reconnects? What's the point of having to click Yes to reconnect?

It is now just long enough to give you time to reboot your computer/reset your modem, but not so long your teammates have to put their lives on hold while you attempt to come back.
By the way, when you get d07ed, it usually has more to do with your connection than it does Anet's servers. If it was the server, other people in the party would typically experience the same thing at or around the same time. Yes, I know you are solo death leveling. But I would bet that you are experiencing problems while in pugs as well.

I don't see your point TheodenKing.
Enlighten me... how will a 2 hour timeout annoy other players?
And what about the manual reconnect? Why not automatically reconnect?
The LDoA title is meant to be achieved with DLing, don't tell me they don't appreciate it. :P

Thanks Shayne Hawke, I can see how it can be abused.
Still, why not automatically try to reconnect?

Because sometimes you disconnecting has to do with problems such as loss of power, your LAN cable got pulled out by your pets, you're resetting your router etc...
You're not obviously going to automatically want to reconnect if your LAN cable is still lying on the ground, so it lets you plug it back in before saying "yes".

That kind of things can happen yes haha but it should still try to reconnect after 5/10/20/30... seconds, just like Windows Live Messenger.
If the client can't reconnect yet then the timer will reset for a longer time before trying again. "Yes" and "No" option can still be present if you want to reconnect instantly....
I'm sure that it would help quiet a bunch of people.

Disconnecting annoys other players because your heroes will stay with you until you drop, and similarly if you are the party leader, henchmen will do this as well.
However, it's a rare occurrence, so this is a good idea.
